Recent results from NA61/SHINE

چکیده
NA61/SHINE is a multi-purpose experimental facility to study hadron production in hadron-proton, hadron-nucleus and nucleus-nucleus collisions at the CERN Super Proton Synchrotron. Measurements motivated by physics of strong interactions, neutrinos and cosmic rays have been performed up to now. The first physics data with secondary hadron (protons, pions and kaons) beams were recorded in 2009 and with nuclear beams (secondary Be beams) in 2011. This contribution briefly presents the NA61/SHINE facility [1] in Sec. 2 and recent results [2] on the three physics programs in Secs. 3, 4, and 5. The contribution consists of copies of the slides presented at the conference New Frontiers in Physics 2014 included as figures with captions.

Hadron production measurement from NA61/SHINE
New results of NA61/SHINE on determination of charged hadron yields in proton-carbon interactions are presented. They aim to improve predictions of the neutrino flux in the T2K experiment. The data were recorded using a secondary-proton beam of 31 GeV/c momentum from CERN SPS which impinges on a graphite target. To determine the inclusive production cross section for charged pions, kaons and pr...
متن کاملEnergy scan of correlations in p+p and Be+Be from NA61/SHINE
The existence of the critical point (CP) of strongly interacting matter is still an open problem. An extensive strong interactions program including a search of the CP and the study of the onset of deconfinement was started by the NA61/SHINE experiment at the CERN SPS. A two dimensional scan of the phase diagram is performed to search for the CP and to shed light on the phase transition region....
متن کاملMeasurement of charged pion and kaon production in proton-carbon interaction at 31 GeV/c from NA61/SHINE
An overview of the recent NA61/SHINE results on determination of charged pion and kaon yields in proton-carbon reactions is presented. The results aim to improve predictions of the neutrino flux in the T2K experiment. The data were recorded during the first physics run of NA61 in 2007 where a proton beam of 31 GeV/c momentum scattered off a graphite target. Thin target, 4% of a nuclear interact...
متن کامل1 3 NA 61 / SHINE ion program
This contribution summarizes the current status and future plans of the NA61/SHINE experiment located at CERN SPS. This experiment is the successor of a former NA49 experiment. The broad physics program includes the investigation of the properties of strongly interacting matter, as well as precision measurements of hadron production for the T2K neutrino experiment and for the Pierre Auger Obser...
متن کاملEnergy dependence of fluctuations in p+p and Be+Be collisions from NA61/SHINE
The main aims of the NA61/SHINE experiment are to discover the critical point of strongly interacting matter and to study properties of the onset of deconfinement. For these goals a two dimensional scan of the phase diagram (T-μB) is being performed at the SPS with measurements of hadron production in proton-proton, proton-nucleus and nucleus-nucleus interactions as a function of collision ener...
